Los Angeles | Chinatown & Little Tokyo

Haven´t been to Los Angeles for over a year and with no agenda this time, I spontaneously decided to do a low-key layover and explore the neighborhoods of Chinatown and Little Tokyo. And I found two exciting and colorful areas just off downtown L.A. Continue reading

Fantastic Waterways – New York City

There is no such thing as a mid-day arrival after a Transatlantic passage into the harbor of New York City and therefore a bucket list item for everyone! I remember how disappointed we were upon check-in in Southampton, that our scheduled overnight stay on the Bermudas had to be cancelled due to heavy storms over the Atlantic Ocean. Over 105 years later, her Denver home is still open to visitors and a great spot to pay visit to. Continue reading

Heading over to Baker Beach on the Western shores of San Francisco is a trip that everyone should take once in town. The view from the beach onto the bridge is probably one of the most romantic ones there is. And getting there by foot is not as difficult as I thought it would be. Continue reading

Charlotte | Appalachian Time-Out

IMG_0634Charlotte in North Carolina might be considered by many people as “just another North American” Bank city, but if you take a closer look at one of my favourite US destinations, Charlotte´s location makes it perfectly suitable as starting point for roadtrips and day excursions.

Attractions like Charleston, Asheville, Greensboro, Raleigh/Durham, Myrtle Beach, Richmond or Savannah are within a three-hours-drive radius and there are also plenty of Nationalparks and reserves in close reach. Continue reading

Miami | 12 South Beach Glitz hotel suggestions

Just a few other North American getaways undergo such a revival in international popularity like Miami does momentarily. The iridescent metropolis in the south of Florida has it all: white sandy beaches, a pumping nightlife, a hip crowd, fantastic food and most of all a sunny way of life. Continue reading
