Cunard Line | MS Queen Victoria Ship Tour

Being my secret favorite of the three Queens, it was a long-awaited short trip to Southampton for private pleasure as well as a chance to check out the newest refurbishment that had just taken place in 2017. Continue reading

P&O Cruises | MV Aurora Ship Tour

With an overall length of 270 meters, MV Aurora is the sixth largest cruise vessel within the British P&O Cruises fleet. She entered service in 2000 and was the first ship to receive the updated company livery with the waving Union flag design on her bow in 2014 while receiving a major refurbishment. I recently had the opportunity to visit the ship in Hamburg and fell in love right from the moment I laid foot on her teak decks. Continue reading

Cunard Line | Queen Mary 2 Ship Tour

She is one of the most iconic passenger ships of modern times and the last true ocean liner sailing the classic transatlantic passage from Southampton to New York and back. I have sailed the one and only RMS Queen Mary 2 a few times already and even though they say “some things cannot get better”, I found out during my latest visit to the queen in the port of Hamburg that they surely can. Having been remastered just a few months ago, QM2 returns into service with retouched interiors that once again reinforce her statement: You are not taking a cruise. You are about to make a journey. Norwegian Cruise Line | MS Norwegian Jade Ship Tour after Refit 2017

With her summer deployment to the port of Hamburg, Norwegian Jade has returned this year to Northern Europe offering seven to twelve days cruises to Norway, Iceland and the British Isles. After an extensive dry dock in early 2017, the ship aims to bring the contemporary Norwegian Cruise Line style to the 2006 built vessel. Reason enough to take a look at what has changed since I had last cruised on her a few years ago and a great place to reunite with my great friends Steve and David during a short hop from Southampton to Hamburg. Continue reading

Costa Cruises | MS Costa Pacifica Ship Tour

Being currently the second largest vessel amongst the Costa Cruise ships, Costa Pacifica is called “The Ship of Music”. This is mainly due to the musically interior theme that the ship was designed in, but it also reflects in the fact that Pacifica holds an exclusive recording studio where passengers may record their own songs. She has also been dedicated a personal tune upon entering service. Discover her with this detailed interior view photo gallery. Continue reading

Mittelthurgau Travel | MS Excellence Princess Ship Tour

With an overall length of only 135 meters, Excellence Princess is actually one of the larger vessels floating on the European river network these days. Built in 2014, 186 passengers travel in luxurious outside cabins and junior suites in a highly familiar atmosphere, pampered with outstanding cuisine and first class service. I enjoyed a full week of Swiss hospitality on the Rhine River and I would most definitely go back onboard anytime. Continue reading

Windstar Cruises | MSY Wind Star Ship Tour

IMG_2675After sailing for years on huge and larger resort ships, this summer was just about time to try out something completely different: We decided pretty spontaneously to spend a week onboard Windstar Cruises´ sailing yacht MSY Wind Star on the Aegean sea.

Carrying a maximum of 148 passengers, Wind Star can be called for sure a very intimate cruise vessel. For us being used to the enormous size and room onboard larger ships, it was quite a change in matters of space and privacy. Yet to sail the beautiful Mediterranean on a ship that has a maximum length of 134 meters and a width of 15.8 metres is definitely worth a try.

I have prepared a little photo portrait of the interiors and deck spaces for you. So come join me on the tour: Welcome aboard MSY Wind Star! Continue reading
