Cunard Line | Queen Victoria – Dinner at The Verandah

Cruises and excellent dining belong together for us like the sun and the sea. And since it is a huge passion of us to try out the various dining options that each and every line and ship have on offer, this time, we paid visit to Cunard Line´s “The Verandah” aboard the beautiful and elegant Queen Victoria. And boy were we reassured… Continue reading

Cunard Line | MS Queen Victoria Ship Tour

Being my secret favorite of the three Queens, it was a long-awaited short trip to Southampton for private pleasure as well as a chance to check out the newest refurbishment that had just taken place in 2017. Continue reading

Sea Cloud Cruises | MSY Sea Cloud 2 Ship Tour

She is one of the most legendary and luxurious sailing yachts in the world. And by far, MSY Sea Cloud 2 makes your jaws drop wherever this magnificent beauty appears. Fantastic Waterways – New York City

There is no such thing as a mid-day arrival after a Transatlantic passage into the harbor of New York City and therefore a bucket list item for everyone! I remember how disappointed we were upon check-in in Southampton, that our scheduled overnight stay on the Bermudas had to be cancelled due to heavy storms over the Atlantic Ocean. And that the ship had to evade towards Madeira instead. But what was a tremendous frustration at first sight, turned out to be a marvelous day-time experience that most cruisers do not get to see when crossing the Atlantic. Continue reading

Princess Cruises | Royal Princess Ship Tour

Ship visits are a great way to experience a certain product at first hand to see wherever the vessel suits the personal preferences or not. And what city could be more perfect to explore Princess Cruises´ luxurious Royal Princess than the romantic Venice in Italy? Admittedly, I could have thought of more inviting weather conditions, but on the other hand just the typical winter day here in Venezia. Welcome aboard! Continue reading

Iceland | Reykjavík – The Colorful Capital

It had rained continuously through the entire morning since our departure from Grundafjördur last night. As mentioned before, the captain had decided to dock the ship in downtown Reykjavík, where we would be a bit less exposed to the strong winds that were forecasted for the next couple of days and heavy thunderstorms that were expected to hit Iceland after falling on land from the Atlantic Ocean. Continue reading

Iceland | Grundarfjörður – Gateway to the Center of the Earth

After having left Isafjördur the night before, the night at sea had been a little rougher then during the other nights. One of the reasons may have been, that we had reached the Western shores of Iceland and therefore were more exposed to the changing weather conditions. Strong winds and lows that had formed over the Atlantic Ocean had nothing better to do than hitting the West coast without mercy. Continue reading

Iceland | Ísafjörður – The Fjord of Ice

Still being completely out-of-order after the extremely tiring excursion to all these wonderful places around Akureyri, it was almost unfair towards Isafjordur that my body was screaming for a little rest. And so my adventurousness was limited to a stroll through the picturesque harbor village and along the fjord´s shore. Continue reading

P&O Cruises | MV Aurora Ship Tour

With an overall length of 270 meters, MV Aurora is the sixth largest cruise vessel within the British P&O Cruises fleet. She entered service in 2000 and was the first ship to receive the updated company livery with the waving Union flag design on her bow in 2014 while receiving a major refurbishment. I recently had the opportunity to visit the ship in Hamburg and fell in love right from the moment I laid foot on her teak decks. Continue reading
