With a capacity of 5,300 passengers she is currently one of the biggest cruise ships afloat. And while being designed for the European mass cruise market, sailing onboard MSC Seaview proved to be quite a pleasant experience as we found out during our latest Mediterranean cruise in November 2018. On the Midnight Train to Budapest | Why Traveling on Tracks is so much more fun

I had always had a quiet passion for train travels, particularly after seeing the remake of Agatha Christie´s “Murder on the Orient-Express” recently in the movie theatre. But once you check the prices for this exclusive two to four days short trip, you quickly begin to reconsider other possible alternatives. And while I mostly rely on the plane as first choice transportation mode, it was owed to my partner that for our recent weekend escape to Budapest, we found ourselves racing the tracks on the midnight train from Munich central station to Budapest Keleti. And what can I say? It turned out to be a comfortable, time-saving and refreshing way to travel! Sleeping in inclusive. Continue reading

Jaipur | 48 Hours in India´s Pink City

When I think about India my mind dives into a rich and colorful Bollywood movie full of exotic scents. Lots of shiny and glitz fabrics, one of the most delicious and refined cuisines and, to stay realistic, a constant smell of excreta. It is a country that just leaves two options for all travelers: You simply love it or you will hate it do death. It does ask for many compromises, but if you dare to get yourself in you will be rewarded with experiences and impressions that will shape the way you will see the future. Continue reading

Empress of the Seas | 4 Days Eastern Caribbean

It was a warm Thursday noon when we boarded the shuttle bus from our airport hotel towards the port. The Empress was waiting at Terminal G, the closest to downtown Miami and I was surprised how tiny she actually looked in direct comparison with the building itself and the other ships in port. We had sailed on the larger Majesty of the Seas a few years ago, so this would actually be a small ship experience for my partner and me. Continue reading

BMI Regional ERJ145 Economy Class | Southampton – Munich

Like mentioned in a blog post from early 2016, Lufthansa had introduced services from Southampton to its hub Munich in March 2016 operated by its codeshare partner BMI Regional. Having just recently completed a channel crossing from Hamburg with the mighty Queen Mary 2, it was just the perfect occasion to try this air link by myself, turning out to be a comfortable and time-saving alternative to the permanently overcrowded London Heathrow airport. Continue reading
