Music is always all about personal choices, current lifestyles and preferences. But with every year that I mature, I realize that when it comes to musical tastes, my mind tends to go back the future.
Every time that I go through my Apple Music account, it is like a big sort out. But it is mostly the newer songs that I kick out of my media library. While most of the classics remain.
Maybe it is a question of quality of today´s replaceable pop music culture? Or maybe it is simply a fall-off of my mind that is longing for the good old times (which, if you know them, truly have been better!!!!). But whatever the reason is, deep inside I will always be a child of the 80s and 90s. And that you truly cannot deny to yourself.
So it might be more than just coincidence that recently I have downloaded a number of beautiful classics by the iconic Pet Shop Boys. Their repertoire is so large and the context of their songs does so well reflect our modern society´s issues and problems, once again.
Of course, they had a few albums, that I had never really approved of (like Super (2016) , i.e.), but they are one of the few artists that have created over the decades again and again songs and melodies that I could not get tired of listening to.
So today I would like to inspire you to head back with me to the past to find a few tunes that make a perfect soundtrack for travel. Rhythmic enough to get you activated, calming enough to not get stressed. The perfect playlist for me when getting ready for a transatlantic night flight. Enjoy, peeps!
