Norwegiantastic News | Norwegian Star gears up for Asia & Down Under in 2016/17

It is almost a miracle! After over 14 years of absence in the two current cruise key markets, Norwegian Cruise Line announced that it will return to Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the Orient in 2016, respectively 2017.

Before Norwegian Star will set sail for the first time out of Istanbul via the Suez Canal to Dubai in October 2016, she will spend her summer season as usual in the Baltic.

Highlights during her passage to the Orient are overnights in the ports of Haifa, Israel and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

On November 20th, 2016 Norwegian Star will become the first Norwegian vessel ever to visit India during her 21-nights route, visiting colorful places such as Mumbai (overnight), Mormugao (Goa), Mangalore and Kochi. This itinerary will take guests also to Abu Dhabi, Oman, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Malaysia.

During December 2016 and January 2017, Norwegian Star will perform alternately 11- and 14-nights sailings through Southeast Asia, visiting highlights such as Singapore, Hong Kong, Ko Samui, Laem Chabang (Bangkok), Phú My (Ho-Chi-Minh-City) and many more.

Norwegian passengers can then continue on an amazing journey from Hong Kong to Sydney on January 16, 2017, touching Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore and Indonesia.

Her 12-nights sailing “Australia & New Zealand” brings Norwegian Star on February 6, 2017 from Sydney to Auckland. The “Down Under Adventure” includes stops in Melbourne, Tasmania, Dunedin, Akaroa, Wellington, Napier and Tauranga.

From Auckland, she will then return back to Singapore in March 2017 via Australia and Indonesia. And from there, Norwegian Star will sail back to Dubai, United Arab Emirates on the conversely route that she had done before, making again stop in India, Oman and Abu Dhabi, as well as Malaysia and Thailand.

Her final segment of this extraordinary and exciting season will take her from Dubai to Venice, Italy, where passengers can enjoy an additional night onboard the ship while exploring this fascinating historical masterpiece.

Bookings for the new routes will open soon on www.ncl.com.

I have just cruised on Norwegian Star recently on one of her 7-nights Norway itineraries.
