Fit@Sea | 10 of my favourite Cruise Ship Gyms

Oh, sweet thooth, I know you well! Putting on weight on a cruise vacation is probably as normal as reading the morning newspaper with a cup of coffee. But what would be relaxation without a proper indulgement to go along with? Right, it would be just half as much as fun!

And to get that skin a beautiful tan while cruising those seven seas without feeling uncomfortable showing off those signs of relaxation, consumption and physical workout should maintain a healthy and comfortable balance.

So it comes at no surprise, that cruise lines not only try to outdo each other in the quality of onboard catering, but also when it comes to offerings and equipments in the onboard fitness centers.

While centuries ago, it was quite an invention to have  a rowing machine and an indoor swimmingpool available, these days some ships feature the latest fitness trends of the industry, like TRX, Kinesis, Kickboxing, Yoga or Zumba.

Whatever your personal strategy in fitness is, you will definitely find it at sea. And with personal trainers and health coaches available, it has never been easier to combine world travel with individual physical and mental improvements.

Take a look at 10 fantastic onboard venues, that make it easy to stay fit and healthy at sea. They belong to my favourite gyms so far (I know over 40 cruise ships and still counting). The featured ships and cruise lines have been selected, because the facilities offer above-average equipment, premium locations, high-quality design, as well as varied classes reflecting up-to-date fitness trends. So you know, what to expect on board, and what not.

(Listings are in alphabetical order of the ship´s name. They reflect my personal taste and opinion ONLY and do NOT base on sponsoring by any cruise line. Only these vessels can be featured, that I have personally been on so far. Recently launched ships may not be included. )
